An Easy Chinoiserie DIY

I saw this on One Kings Lane and thought it was a great idea. Many of us have Chinese garden stools in our homes and gardens - as you might imagine, I have quite a few. I love the idea of topping it with a tray to turn it into a side table. This would work perfectly with a blue and white Chinese garden stool and a round or hexagonal tray - I need to try this. One could use a lacquer tray for a modern vibe or a vintage silver or brass one for a more elegant look.

Flamingo Home

Junell from Seekers Bazaaar has a fabulous eye and an amazing home. I adore her vibe because she loves color and is not afraid to take risks. And I have to love a girl who loves pink. On Monday she posted about her flamingo foyer with a sneak peek at her flamingo bath.

The entryway is anchored by a large flamingo Audobon poster available here. Check out the Dana Gibson chevron pagoda lantern and the flamingo pink front door. WOW!!!!! I would kill for that dragon and Greek key rug.

Did you grow up spelling the plural of flamingo "flamingoes" or "flamingos"? Both are correct, but I was taught to spell it with an "e." Now I seem to spell it without. "Flamingoes" and "potatoes" have always looked odd to me.

The Pretty Gallery Wall

I think most of us associate gallery walls with either a modern black and white look or a funky and eclectic grouping of art. People went nuts over this gallery wall above that I posted and pinned, with its traditional furniture and antiques, Chinoiserie, pink walls, and amazing overlapping arrangement of art. It is a lovely example of how gallery walls can be pretty, feminine, and work beautifully with classic furnishings and Chinoiserie. I love these rooms below with pastel walls and wallpaper.
