Saturday Inspiration - Pink Chinoiserie

In shelter magazine land, blue is king. Blue covers sell magazines. The downside is that they all look the same. Imagine my excitement when this arrived in the mail yesterday - the new June 2013 issue of Traditional Home with PINK CHINOISERIE on the cover! The gorgeous home of and by interior designer Robin Weiss even has a pink exterior. Below is the dining room. Run out and pick up this issue if you don't already subscribe - the entire home is wonderful and not all pink - there is lots of green and green and pink as well as lots and lots of Chinoiserie.

Want even more pink Chinoiserie? I have a wonderful Pinterest board here and you can follow all of my 129 Pinterest boards here.

Elizabeth McKay & Chinoiserie in Manhattan

I wanted to share with you the fabulous Chinoiserie filled Manhattan home of Elizabeth McKay Jenkins, founder of Elizabeth McKay, and her family featured in the April 2013 issue of Matchbook Magazine as well as her very chic upper East side boutique. She is also a devoted follower of Chinoiserie Chic. Her husband Teddy says she reads Chinoiserie Chic religiously!

These spaces combine so many of my favorites - Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon, Schumacher Nanjing, elephants galore, Quadrille, Chinoiserie wallpaper, ghost chairs, faux bamboo, monograms, fretwork, Chinoiserie toile, vintage, and lucite. The mix is Chinoiserie Chic, Palm Beach Chic, preppy, old school, modern, fun, and sophisticated.

Elizabeth loves elephants - she is currently restoring this fantastic Craigslist elephant desk that she read about in my post here for her new office space.
