Kerry Steele Art Sale & Inspiration Board

Whenever I meet with new clients, they invariably ask me to help them give their home more color, fun, polish, and drama. My favorite interior designer trick is abstract modern art. Check out this new inspiration board of mine above and more below all featuring art by Kerry Steele, as well as pictures of stunning rooms with abstract art to show you its transformative powers. As an added bonus to Chinoiserie Chic readers, Kerry is offering 15% off on her art with code JuneChic15 on Etsy or using the contact form on KerrySteele.com for something not yet listed on Etsy.

In the living room above, I have painted the room a soft lavender. The focal points are this piece by Kerry Steele and the fabulous blue green sofa available at Charlotte & Ivy. I have used a pair of antique Chinese garden stools as a coffee table, Kartell Victoria ghost chairs, a pair of beaded chandeliers by Marjorie Skouras, pink and navy velvet Greek key pillows, and my favorite pink leopard pillow by Dana Gibson.

Kerry has listed several new works of art just in time for this special sale. Here are some of my favorites currently available. Another interior designer tip - for works on canvas, don't feel that they have to be framed. A much more modern look that I use all the time (and more budget friendly) is to hang it unframed.

Lavender & Chinoiserie & Inspiration Boards

A color that you may never have thought of combining with Chinoiserie is lavender. It is a favorite of mine. It is wonderful with gold faux bamboo, blue and white Chinese porcelain, black and gold Chinoiserie furniture and red lacquer. Walls painted in a soft lavender act as a neutral, but so much prettier than beige or white. Here are inspiration boards of mine to inspire you as well beautiful rooms, fabrics, and wallpaper combining lavender and Chinoiserie.

Saturday Inspiration - Purple and Chinoiserie

This living room by Audrey Curl uses many Chinoiserie classics - a pagoda pelmet and curtains in Scalamandre Ping, a triple gourd lamp, a Chinese garden stool, a Chinese screen, and a Chinese child's chair, but with the interesting twist of lavender and purple accents. I love the leopard rug. I also like the use of the bamboo blinds giving this grand and formal space a more casual element.

Trending - Pink & Orange - Inspiration Board & More

A new color trend I adore is combining pink and orange. I love each of these colors and combined they are amazing - modern, bold, fun, dramatic, and energizing. These colors work beautifully with Chinoiserie. Love Chinoiserie Chic, Palm Beach Chic, and Hollywood Regency? Try these colors.

I have created a dining room above in pink and orange with touches of black for glamour and sophistication. All items are from Charlotte & Ivy - the most beautifully curated online store you have ever seen. The prices are wonderful and they have FREE SHIPPING, even on furniture. Here's the scoop.

I have painted the walls in a pale lavender.

The rug is an orange and white striped wool flat weave - casual, modern, and sophisticated.

A pair of pink pagoda lamps is pure fun, Chinoiserie, and glamour.

A framed pink elephant giclee is very Palm Beach Chic.

I love this beaded and iron chandelier - such a hot look and this is very well priced.

A Draper gold and black Greek key cabinet - need I say more?

Pink Chinese Chippendale dining chairs - you have to check this out - be your own designer choosing your own color, level of distressing, and fabric with dozens of combinations - these are fantastic!!!!!!!

A black steel with cream wood base round dining table for a bold and unexpected juxtaposition.

For even more inspiration, I have created a Pink and Orange Pinterest board here.
