House Tour - My Pagoda Bedroom

This is my Pagoda Bedroom. The color scheme is pale blue, ivory, silver, and gold. The centerpiece is of course the gold leaf pagoda canopy bed. My main tip for the bedroom is to put your $$ into the bed. I personally love canopy beds. Buy a great mattress. I recently purchased the Heavenly Bed and it really is heavenly. I have outfitted it with goose down pillows and duvet, Frette and Pratesi sheets, the whole nine yards. And if you have high thread count cottons sheets, do yourself a favor and have them professionally laundered and pressed. Such a time saver and you won't believe the difference. Inspiration Board - The Navy Boy's Bedroom

I was thinking today that I have never seen a boy's bedroom with a canopy bed, nor have I ever seen a boy's bedroom with Chinoiserie. I Googled it and could not find a single example of either, let alone one with both. I decided to challenge myself and see what I could come up with in an inspiration board.

I started with navy and white striped wallpaper, and added the steel Architecture Bed in navy blue. I think the clean lines are masculine enough for a boy's room, even though it is a canopy.

Chinoiserie elements includes a red pagoda mirror, curtains with navy Greek key trim, and a pair of navy pagoda lamps. The Jonathan Adler zebra rug in the British flag and a red leather wing chair are bold and chic touches. What do you think, can a boy's bedroom include a canopy bed and Chinoiserie? I vote yes.

Stripes and Greek Key

Celerie Kemble
I love stripes and I adore Greek key, but never thought of combining the two. The circus tent canopy bed and grasscloth walls are fabulous as well.
