Coastal Chinoiserie

Some of us are likely off to the beach these last two weeks of August. DC is a veritable ghost town this time of year. This vignette is a lovely example of what I call Coastal Chinoiserie. Coastal Chinoiserie

It's summer. Perhaps you have a beach house or would like to give your home a summer beach house look? I have coined the term Coastal Chinoiserie for a more sophisticated summer beach house style. Here are some of its key elements -

*Blue and white
*Pops of coral if you like
*Stripes
*Sisal, jute, or sea grass rugs
*Chinese Chippendale
*Faux Bamboo
*Blue and white Chinese porcelain
*Chinese garden stools
*Rattan
*Greek key
