Inspiration Board Inspired by the One Room Challenge

One of my favorite things from the One Room Challenge is these amazing blue and white botanical prints that Jennifer from The Pink Pagoda created for Linda (Calling It Home)'s family room. They are available in her Etsy store as a pair, three, or four. Aren't they wonderful? They would work well in an entryway, dining room, living room, or bedroom as well.

I created an inspiration board using the set of four with a green Parsons table, a pair of ginger jars from The Pink Pagoda and a stunning green glazed vase from The Pink Pagoda.

Here is more of this combination I adore - green with blue and white Chinoiserie. This green is getting me in the mood for Christmas decorating. I can't wait. I am planning a huge upcoming series on decorating your home for the holidays with Chinoiserie.

The Chinoiserie Umbrella Stand

Darryl Carter
Filled with umbrellas, antique walking sticks, or even tennis racquets, a Chinoiserie umbrella stand is a functional and elegant touch just inside your door. Choices include blue and white Chinese porcelain, faux bamboo, or real bamboo.

The Pink Pagoda

Jennifer at The Pink Pagoda uses this 21 inch vase as an umbrella stand in her own foyer and sells it in her store. This is gorgeous! Large vases or ginger jars work beautifully as umbrella stands. Just make sure they stand somewhere between 20" and 24." Also, a head's up that The Pink Pagoda has restocked some of her very popular blue and white Chinese porcelain pieces that have been out of stock. See them all here.

One Room Challenge Sneak Peek

In my inspiration board for my Chinoiserie Chic powder room shown below, I included a pair of gray ginger jars. I had a vision of a huge pair of pale gray ginger jars as a contrast in scale to the diminutive powder room. In fact, the photo I used for the inspiration board was of gray ginger jar lamps from 1st dibs that I cropped the tops off because I could not find gray ginger jars anywhere online. Why did I think I could find a pair the size I needed in person on the cheap?  I just had a feeling I would.

Yesterday I walked into T.J.Maxx and found this gorgeous huge pair (20") shown above in my kitchen in the softest, prettiest gray with foo dog tops for $25 each. Just a little peek since I don't want to spoil the fun for my Wednesday post, but I am so happy. They are going to be fantastic!

Did you know that you can go back and check out all my One Room Challenge powder room posts by clicking the navy (my Chinoiserie Chic color of the year) ORC button in my sidebar?
