 Happy Fourth of July. I hope everyone will be celebrating this great country of ours with family, friends, and food! I have created a fantasy show house with my favorite rooms that include red, white, and blue, and Chinoiserie. Remember that "red" includes a deep coral and Chinese red and "blue" includes turquoise blue and navy blue, all favorites of mine.

Blue and White Chinese Planters

A wonderful way to use Chinoiserie indoors and out is with blue and white Chinese porcelain planters. A beautifully curated collection in every size you could want is available online at The Pink Pagoda here. Below are some of my favorites from The Pink Pagoda and lots of photos of blue and white Chinese porcelain planters used indoors and out to inspire you. Indoors I especially love orchids, palms, and fiddle leaf figs. Outdoors, I love boxwoods, topiaries, and hydrangeas.

Zebras - Fourth of July Tablescape and My New Houzz Ideabook

This is one of my favorite tablescapes ever, from the January/February 2013 Lonny. With its red, white, and blue color scheme, I think it would be great for a non-traditionally traditional Fourth of July table. The focal point is the tablecloth in Brunschwig & Fils Gillian S Zebras. This fabric features blue and white Chinese porcelain, flowers, and zebra figurines on a red background. Red, white, and blue and stripes!

Red, White & Blue Chinoiserie - The Foyer and an Inspiration Board

In honor of the upcoming 4th of July, I thought it would be fun to focus this week on decorating with red, white, and blue with Chinoiserie, of course. This color scheme need not be country or kitschy. When combined with Chinoiserie, it is quite sophisticated and is a natural with Chinoiserie - think blue and white Chinese porcelain, blue and white Chinoiserie toile fabrics and wallpaper, navy blue, Chinese red, coral red, and glossy white lacquered furniture.
